B Sharp Jazz Quartet

The B Sharp Quartet made a strong impression with their recordings for the MAMA Foundation label. Consisting of drummer Herb Graham, Jr., Randall Willis on reeds, pianist Eliot Douglass (later replaced by Rodney Lee), and bassist Reggie Carson, the L.A.-based group played advanced hard bop that looks toward the avant-garde but always swings. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
