Fight for Sight Dodgeball Invitational Tournament

POSTPONED UNTIL FEBRUARY 2015

A Dodgeball Canada fundraiser to support Canadian Council for the Blind. This co-ed dodgeball tournament is comprised of teams with 6 to 10 participants in three divisions - to suit all levels of skill and age. Funds raised to to support CCB research and future initiatives.

1st annual “Home Sweet Home”, a gingerbread house contest supporting Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario

Who: The Canadian Culinary Foundation (CCFCC) – a variety of local chefs will be taking part in this fundraiser. What: 1st annual “Home Sweet Home”, a gingerbread house contest supporting Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario. Categories include: *Professional (chefs, bakers, restaurateurs) *Junior (college, high school age) *School age (elementary to middle school) *Family (anyone) *People’s Choice $2 per vote. When: Judging occurs Monday, December 1st; 1 pm at Four Points by Sheraton. Houses on display between December 1st and 21st. Where: Four Points by Sheraton, 1150 Wellington Road Why: A fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario How: People will gather Monday December 1 at 1 pm to witness the judging. The 14th Annual Winter Coat Drive for the Homeless

The 14th Annual Winter Coat Drive for the Homeless in London kicks off on December 1-31st.

Any winter coat can be dropped off at CCH high school or any of the fire halls in London during December.

Over the past 13 years we’ve facilitated the donations of over 20,000 coats to those most in need in London.

This year, the need is even greater.

Please consider the Gift of Warmth this December to those most in need in our city.

Animal Outreach's 2015 Cat & Kitten Calendar

Animal Outreach's 2015 Cat & Kitten Calendar is now ready to purchase.

All the cats and kittens on the calendar were rescued, fostered and adopted to good homes. 
Anyone interested can buy one for $20. All proceeds go to Animal Outreach.

Calendars will be available at the adoption day this Sat Dec 6th @ the Parish Hall @ Windermere on the Mount. 12-3. Also can be picked up at A Village Tail (Wortley & Bruce Sts), The Cats Bark-Dundas St across from police station, or call Linda @ 519-471-4020.

"The Dream House” a one act comedic play

Saturday December 20th @ 7pm Almanarah Presbyterian Church located at 250 Hamilton Road in London presents “The Dream House” a one act comedic play about a family who all live in a very cheap life to try to save money to buy their dream house. They are looking for the “right” company to build their house. Due to being so cheap they choose the “wrong person” instead of the appropriate person who has the professional, knowledge, experience and qualifications but cost more. Will the dream house meet their expectations or will it crumble to the ground causing them to lose their dream of joy and peace forever because of a foolish choice?

Railway Family Fun Day

The Elgin County Railway Museum has a special Railway Family Fun Day planned for Friday, January 2nd from 12 noon - 4 pm. Families are invited to tour the Museum exhibits, including the 100th Anniversary of the MCRR Shops Exhibit , and the History in Motion Model Railway, climb aboard and explore a real steam engine and a caboose. Kids can make their own paper 5700 steam engine, go on a scavenger hunt to win a prize, play with a train table and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and popcorn. Admission for the event is $5/adult, kids $2 each, under 3 years are FREE!

The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA®) is pleased to announce that London, Ontario has been selected to host the 39th edition of Country Music Week, September 8-11, 2016. This four-day music extravaganza will culminate with the Canadian Country Music Association Awards broadcast on Sunday, September 11.

Country Music Week will be held in London September 8-11, 2016 with the CCMA Awards Broadcast being held on Sunday, September 11. Before heading to London, Country Music Week 2014 and this year’s CCMA Awards will be celebrated in Edmonton, Alberta September 4-7. In 2015, Country Music Week and the CCMA Awards head to Halifax, Nova Scotia from September 10-13.
