S.O.S. Soldiers FUNDRAISING

1. The project consists in launching a website in honour of Soldiers who chose to leave us. (Domain name and hosting are already purchased in April and website should be launch in the near future www.soldiersofsuicide.com)

2. We are working on offering information about help available to prevent suicide among our military members

3. Dedicate a tree to S.O.S. Soldiers for serving our country at National Military Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa Ontario. (The tree has been chosen but need to be ordered. The goal is to have it ready for September. For this to happen we need to put the order in by mid June, The cost is 2,995$)

4. We are planning in having the three S.O.S. mothers to be with us when we have the unveiling ceremony of the tree in September. The three mothers authorized the publication of their son’s name and pictures. They have been waiting for a long time to see their sons remembered. (The parents live in BC, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick) To achieve our goal we need the involvement of everyone who wishes to be a part of our organization and help us to show the families, friends and brothers in arm that we remember them.

We would appreciate any donations that would bring this great cause to its next level.

Freak Poker Run

Cancer affects hundreds of thousands of Canadians every day. Garry Woods was one and, in his memory, we are holding the second annual Garry “FreaK” Woods Memorial Poker Run, a motorcycle/car event and introducing the LongShot Bicycle Ride during the summer of 2013. Proceeds will benefit the Gene Goodreau Patient Assistance Fund, which assists cancer patients in financial need. Supporting the Gene Goodreau Patient Assistance Fund, will make a difference in the lives of cancer patients who receive treatment in London. This fund covers expenses that arise from cancer treatment and are not covered by government funding, such as transportation to treatments, accommodation, parking, medications, nutritional beverages, wigs and child care.
