Toupee For A Day!

Join us for this new, exciting national event!  Wear your Toupee on March 4th and help raise funds for Wellspring.

http://toupeeforaday.com/london/

On March 4, 2015 Wellsprings London and Region will be hosting a reception at Winks Eatery from 5-7pm to celebrate Toupee for a Day. This event will be a chance for Wellspring to recognize and thank sponsors and participants for their involvement. Attendees will be able to network and mingle while enjoying live entertainment.

EVERYONE can participate. There are NO restrictions based on age, location or physical ability. The only requirement is that participants wear their toupee for the day while continuing their normal routine. Large groups, small groups, entire families, entire companies, and school groups are all encouraged to participate. By sporting toupees for a day, participants will raise vital funds and awareness for Wellspring London. They will be “putting it on for the ones we love”.
Participants can register and there is no registration fee. Participants can register as a team or as an individual. Each participant will have a personal fundraising page where they can tell their personal story and collect donations.

The Wellspring “toupee” has been created using 10 different colours of “hair”. The “hair” represents a variety of different coloured cancer ribbons from some of the most common cancers, including a lavender ribbon for supporters. The emotional journey faced by people diagnosed with cancer, as well as those who support them, is very similar regardless of the type of cancer. Wellspring London supports ALL people affected by cancer and all cancer supporters.

15th Annual International Women’s Day Breakfast

The International Women's Day Breakfast is an annual fundraiser that takes place in support of the London Abused Women's Centre. Each year, the community gathers to bid on Silent and Live Auction items and other fundraising activities with the proceeds going directly to front-line services to support abused women in London. All of the items featured in the auctions and activities are generously donated by businesses in London and the surrounding area.

We welcome a keynote speaker each year to share their experiences while focusing on a particular topic that affects women. In our special 15th year we welcome Jasmine, a national advocate and public educator with Sextrade 101, a Toronto-based sex trade survivors organization. She frequently speaks at awareness events and training workshops on prostitution and human trafficking in Canada.

The morning is a great opportunity to connect with fellow community members, raise money for an essential cause and vital services for women, and hear inspired words from our guest speaker. We look forward to seeing you at the London Convention Centre on March 5th, 2015.

If you would like further information about the organization, please visit the website: www.lawc.on.ca

Breakfast is included in your ticket purchase.

Huron Country Playhouse: Footloose

One of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory bursts onto the Grand Bend stage with exhilarating results.

A young rebel moves to a small middle-American town where dance is forbidden, and encourages all young people to defy the strict edict of the local pastor and call for a rock ‘n’ roll party.  In so doing, he brings healing to the heart of a town held back by the memory of tragedy.

Anchored by memorable 80s anthems “Holding Out For A Hero”, “Almost Paradise”, “Let’s Hear It For The Boy”, and the self-titled track, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with warm hearts and open minds.
