Rascal Flatts on CSI
I'm a huge Rascal Flatts fan - have been for years. People thought I was crazy when I scored tickets to a show in Estero, Florida years ago...and struggled to find someone to go to the show with me.
Didja see CSI Thursday night (March 4th)? The episode was called, "Unshcokable" - a play on words on Rascal Flatts newest single, the title song from "Unstoppable." No big surprise that the show centered around the band.
Both the band and the TV show are celebrating thier 10th anniversaries, so a collaboration was a natural.
Last night they showed they were both great singers, but pretty cool actors too.
And you think you've got money problems?
And you think you've got money problems? I couldn't believe the following...it gives us a peek into how 'the other half of the world' lives - these are the sums that make the gross national product of some small countries look like lunch money!(reprinted from a news source website)
Ousted L.A. Dodgers CEO Jamie McCourt wants estranged hubby Frank McCourt to fork over temporary support -- to the tune of $988,845 a month. The judge in their divorce case just unsealed more than 1400 pages of documents.
But the best part is the lifestyle of the rich, the famous and the dysfunctional. - For the last 5 years of their marriage, Jamie and Frank took $2.31 million per month in salaries and perks -- almost entirely on a tax-free basis.
Worst Games Ever, eh?
Some of the International media in BC are calling the Vancouver Olympics, "the Worst Games Ever." Britain - home of soccer hooligans, are among the biggest detractors.I'm sure that behind the TV facade, every Games have had challenges - Remember that Beijing looked great until we discovered that even the little girl singing wasn't doing the singing. They've all had transportation challenges, ticket sales questions, equipment failures (even if it worked perfectly for a couple of years) and we certainly can't control the weather (although there was a measure of that in Beijing too).
"Walk it off baby! You're still hot"
Seriously - that's what Taylor Swift yells to Taylor Lautner in the new movie, "Valentines Day".I thought you'd like to see her acting debut:
New Josh Turner CD out Tuesday!
I am quickly becoming a big Josh Turner fan. His new CD "Haywire" comes out Feb 9th and includes the song, "Why Don't We Just Dance."
This is a pretty cool interview with Josh talking about a could of the songs on the Haywire, including some studio footage. Enjoy!
Lady A's "Need You Now" is great!
I've been living with Lady Antebellum's newest CD "Need You Now" for the past few days - wow! I say ‘living with' because it's in my car, on my iPod and on my stereo at work. It officially hits the stores Tuesday - buy it!
Their first CD was named as one of the best debut discs - many critics put it in the same league as the Dixie Chicks. It made me a fan of the group... which was cemented further when they dropped in to the station, when they opened for Keith Urban. This CD is better!
Sophomore discs are always tough, especially if you're following an outstanding debut disc - Lady Antebellum have delivered.
I carry I.C.E.
I got this e-mail today. You've likely seen it a few times - I have too. I've had I.C.E. in my cell phone for years. This is a standard procedure all paramedics follow at the scene of an accident when they come across your cell phone...
We all carry our mobile phones with names & numbers stored in its memory but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends.
If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence this 'ICE' (In Case of Emergency) Campaign
New Year's Resolutions!!!
How do you make your New Year's Resolution Stick?(At least past first week anyway...)
It's sosmething I struggle with every year. A number of my Facebook friends changed thir staus lines to reflect their Resolutions. The following came from a radio prep sight but I thought it might be helpful.

Holiday Shopping
Got your Christmas shopping done yet? ...started??
This year it seems we skipped Christmas and went to straight to Boxing Day. I was out shopping on the weekend and most stores had 30-50% Sales signs in the windows and on the shelves...some stores had even more!
The Retail Council of Canada warned retailers are facing "a complex market environment in which the consumer is sending mixed signals." I think that means that we're not sure whether to spend more or less this holiday season and that has merchants a bit nervous.
All My Favourite Things Are Bad For Me...
A little disappointed today. On my vacation, I gained about 5 pounds - that's a lot on a skinny guy like me...and like my father, I gain it just above my belt. And it's tough to get rid of!With 10 days to go to Christmas Day, I now find out that all my favourite Holiday goodies are bad for me.
Consider this fact presented by Women's Health magazine: The average North American eats 600 additional calories per day through the month of December. Translation: That's an extra six pounds. Yikes! But if you know which foods are the worst culprits for your waistline, you can battle back more effectively:
