Coupon Christine: Saving on holiday groceries, baking needs and Halloween Candy!

SAVINGS TIP of the WEEK

A great savings tip when grocery shopping around the holidays is to shop the evening before the holiday when stores will be closed.  Stores want to sell off their meat, vegetables, fruit and bakery products that did not sell the week prior and needs to go.  You can score upwards of 30-50% off products that these departments will either pitch at the end of the day or pitch them when they return to work after the holidays.  Just look for the big clear-out stickers.

To add to this tip, check out the clearance seasonal items the day after the holiday, but also to check out the meat, vegetables, fruit and bakery sections as sometimes they over-ordered and need to clear things out after the holidays.

COUPON FIND of the WEEK

With Thanksgiving approaching, that means baking.  And personally I don’t do a ton of baking, so I tend to buy a HUGE bag of brown sugar only to pull it out again in a few months at the next holiday and it is hard as a rock!  So why not head over to Bulk Barn and scoop what you need.  You can also pick up some awesome deals on Halloween candy here (if you have the will power to have it in your home that long and not eat it.  Running now and until Thursday, Oct. 4, Bulk Barn has a PRINTABLE $3 off when you spend $10!  Great coupon to save money on some baking supplies just in time for Thanksgiving J They are also giving out a 30th Anniversary reusable bag from now and until Oct. 4th
