Album Review

Brass Construction's unique take on jazz, funk, and even disco (which would come to full fruition with vocalist Randy Muller's project, Skyy) are revisited on The Best of Brass Construction: Movin' & Changin'. All of the hits are included, with some lesser-known early career tracks thrown in for a fair sense of historical perspective. While these earlier tracks are somewhat of a nuisance to trudge through (especially as there are a few obscure earlier numbers that could have been equally effective on the compilation), they are pardoned by hearing their signature anthems in their full remastered glory. If this is your first time exploring the magical funk of Brass Construction, your best bet would be to seek out Get Up to Get Down: Brass Construction's Funky Feeling.
