In its early days, the Black Saint label went out of its way to feature free jazz. This set matches together pianist Don Pullen with the many woodwinds of Joseph Jarman (flute, alto flute, piccolo, tenor, soprano and clarinet) and drummer Don Moye. The four group originals, although sometimes using themes, are quite spontaneous and most noteworthy for the interplay between the unpredictable Jarman and the powerful pianist. Mostly for very open-eared listeners.
