Essential Skills Food Program

Essential Skills Food Program: This program is an opportunity for youth to enter the workforce, specifically within the food industry. Hutton House offers 10 weeks of pre-employment training providing participants with the essential skills required to be successful in the workplace. All training takes place at the Hutton House Learning Centre. Participants will be trained in Safe Food Handling, Smart Serve, Customer Service Excellence, Worker Health & Safety, W.H.M.I.S., Cash Training and Cooking. 4th Annual EXHALE MTB Race

4th Annual EXHALE MTB Race, presented by The Lung Association, is a timed mountain bike trail race, taking place on Sunday Oct.4, 2015 at the Fanshawe Conservation Area in London ON. The 20.9 kilometre lake trail around Fanshawe Reservoir offers a full range of climbing, flat and technical trail and the event will offer riders 4 categories, Open Solo 2 Laps M/F, Recreational Solo 1 lap M/F, Fat Boy Category 1 lap and 2 Person Tea 2 laps Tag Team style M/F/Co-ed, to allow riders of all skill levels to get involved. 4th Annual Light the Night Walk

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada’s 4th Annual Light the Night Walk in London, Ontario. Each year, in communities across Canada, teams of families, friends, co-workers come together to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada’s (LLSC) Light The Night Walks and bring help and hope to people battling blood cancers and their families, and survivors. Light The Night Walks are evenings filled with inspiration.
During this leisurely walk, families and friends gather in select sites across Canada as thousands of walkers carry illuminated lanterns showcasing their relation to the cause; a white lantern for blood cancer patients and survivors, a red one to walk as a supporter and a gold one in memory of a loved one lost. Mental Health Walk or Run Event

On Sunday October 25th, 2015 at 10am come participate in the Mental Health Walk or Run Event to help children, adolescents and adults affected by mental health issues. This fund raising event is supporting the Mental Health program at London Health Science Centre (LHSC). Donations and event funds will assist with education, emergency services and patient care needs. This fun and exciting event is open to all ages and levels of fitness and ability. Walk or run 2, 5 or 10 Km at Springbank Gardens in all its fall glory! The first 200 Adult participants will receive a technical shirt. The first 50 Youth participants will receive a t-shirt. Finisher’s medals will be given to all participants! This event provides a venue to celebrate, promote awareness and de-stigmatize mental health. There will be music, a silent auction, great food at our barbeque and mental health awareness displays in the park.

Operation Santa Claus is a project organized by the Volunteer Organization of CPRI. This amazing volunteer project ensure that all children using CPRI Services (and their siblings) receive a gift this holiday season. All monies raised will be used to purchase toys, gifts, books and more to be donated to 'Operation Santa Claus'. Last year we were able to purchase OVER $750 worth of toys, books and more to donate to this AMAZING Volunteer project and we are excited to do it again this year!

The Classic 5K

The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA®) is pleased to announce that London, Ontario has been selected to host the 39th edition of Country Music Week, September 8-11, 2016. This four-day music extravaganza will culminate with the Canadian Country Music Association Awards broadcast on Sunday, September 11.

Country Music Week will be held in London September 8-11, 2016 with the CCMA Awards Broadcast being held on Sunday, September 11. Before heading to London, Country Music Week 2014 and this year’s CCMA Awards will be celebrated in Edmonton, Alberta September 4-7. In 2015, Country Music Week and the CCMA Awards head to Halifax, Nova Scotia from September 10-13.
