Old St Thomas Church - Family Fun Day

Traditional lawn bowlers wore all white (and fancy hats for the women) - we will honour that tradition with this all-skill-levels-welcome, for-fun tournament! We will play a simplified version of the game (including "dropping the jack" and playing fewer ends per game) to ensure a super-fun experience for all that wraps up before the lights go out! 3 games per team, guaranteed. Players can register as an individual ($38.00) or team ($150.00). Teams that register as a full team can have up to 4 players. Co-ed teams strongly preferred. Walk of Champions for Myeloma Research

Proceeds from the 2014 Walk will go to Myeloma Research at the London Regional Cancer Program.

The Dorchester Walk was started by two members of the London and District Myeloma Support Group Steering Committee - Keith Fleming and Dan Childerhose. Both were myeloma patients and members of the Optimist Club of North Dorchester and lived in the Dorchester area. They decided to organize a local walk so that more people affected by Multiple Myeloma could participate. They have worked hard every year to ensure the Walk is a success and have received immense support from the community.

Wellspring London is a volunteer-driven, community-based organization that offers programs to help cancer patients, their families and caregivers cope with the emotional, social, psychological and spiritual impact of cancer at no cost and without need of a referral. The Boardwalk Walk for Wellspring is taking place Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 8:00am-1:00pm. It is a 5k supportive walk to recognize individuals living with cancer, and those who care for them. This event is open to friends, families, children, colleagues, businesses and other stakeholders to Wellspring London. Receiving no government, United Way or YMCA funding, the Boardwalk Walk for Wellspring helps ensure our active membership of 1,500 individuals receive the support they need. Join London Ontario's Original Rappel Challenge!

Individuals from the London & surrounding area will have another exciting opportunity to raise $1,500 to become a Superhero and rappel 26 floors down the side of One London Place, in support of kids with physical disabilities at the 4th Annual London Drop Zone. The response to the Drop Zone in London over the past three years has been overwhelming – we have raised over $383,000 for Easter Seals kids! The commitment made by participants and local businesses means that children and youth with physical disabilities will be able to access the programs and services they need to achieve a greater level of acceptance and independence. Seize the Day 5K Walk & Run - Epilepsy Support Centre

On Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 10:30 am to 2 pm, Epilepsy Support Centre will host Seize the Day 5K Walk & Run at Kiwanis Park North (Hale St. entrance) to raise funds for epilepsy education programs, support services, and community engagement. This event will include a run and walk, followed by live entertainment and a community BBQ. This four-day music extravaganza will culminate with the Canadian Country Music Association Awards broadcast on Sunday, September 11.

Country Music Week will be held in London September 8-11, 2016 with the CCMA Awards Broadcast being held on Sunday, September 11. Before heading to London, Country Music Week 2014 and this year’s CCMA Awards will be celebrated in Edmonton, Alberta September 4-7. In 2015, Country Music Week and the CCMA Awards head to Halifax, Nova Scotia from September 10-13.
