Sunshine Foundation Float for Dreams

The inaugural Sunshine Float for Dreams event taking place on Sunday, June 26th 2016 will send close to 500 “Sunshine Floaters” down the Grand River, starting at Five Oaks Retreat Centre (just South of Paris, ON), floating downstream through on-water challenges, towards a “Celebration of Dreams” at Brant Conservation Area, approximately 5.5 kilometers down river for a BBQ lunch, beer tent, special musical guest and more.

Participants can register as a Classic Team, or a VIP Team, raising funds for Sunshine and taking part in an extraordinary opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of children.

Description: The whole Village is turning out to support this “Dance to Victory” First World War event. Join us as we celebrate the Canadians spirit on the Homefront during the last years of the First World War when campaigns and events were held to sell Victory Bonds. These were the days of rousing marches and one steps, waltzes and even the daring tango! Period costumes are encouraged but not required, no previous dance experience required. At the Saturday workshops, Dance Mistress and Historian, Mme. Cathy Stephens will teach you all the basic and simple steps you need to know to be able to do all the dances at the ball. Join us afterwards at the village for a country supper followed by dancing to authentic dance music of the era. Sunday there is more fun at the Family Frolic featuring period music and simple dances that are fun for the whole family, followed by afternoon tea at the Tavern.

The T-33 brings the early era of jet fighters to the forefront and spectators won’t believe the speed and agility of London’s own - Pete McLeod’s Edge 540. Pete competes around the world as part of the Red Bull racing team.
Ground displays will feature interactive fun for everyone and a chance to get up close and personal with pilots and crew.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada’s Light The Night Walk October 15th, 2016 in Victoria Park The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada’s 5th Annual Light the Night Anniversary Walk in London, Ontario. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) is Canada’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services.
